Caves of Faribault to Host Cheese Crawl
July 12 2022
Each year, thousands of cheese professionals from around the country gather to celebrate and learn about the cheese industry at the American Cheese Society Annual Conference. The American Cheese Society (ACS) is the leader in promoting and supporting American cheeses, providing the cheese industry with educational resources and networking opportunities, while encouraging the highest standards of cheesemaking focused on safety and sustainability. This year marks the return of the first to face-to face conference since 2019, giving attendees the opportunity to participate in hands on training, cheese sampling and networking. The conference holds a special place in the hearts of many cheese industry professionals and is an invaluable opportunity for all who attend.
This year, Prairie Farms Cheese Division and its specialty brands, Caves of Faribault and Shullsburg Creamery, are proud to announce our silver level sponsorship of the 39th ACS Annual Conference, hosted in Portland, Oregon. Since 2016, we have had the opportunity to sponsor in different capacities and this year is no different. As a silver sponsor, we are excited to announce again the title sponsor of the final stop at the popular event, The Cheese Crawl. The Cheese Crawl is a fun pre-conference event, scheduled from 7PM-10PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, where fellow attendees will join at local Portland pubs for an evening of snacks, cheese sampling, mingling and libations. Adding to the excitement of the evening, we are joined by fellow Cheese Crawl co-sponsors, Caputo, Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and Olympia Provisions, who will also be hosting at various other locations throughout downtown Portland. The Prairie Farms, Caves of Faribault and Shullsburg Creamery stop on the crawl will be hosted at Coopers Hall Winery and Tap Room (404 SE. 6th Ave., Portland, OR), where we will have appetizers from our host venue, a grazing table with an assortment of our cheeses, raffles from Wild Cherry Spoon Co., music from Stumptown DJs, and a visit from the Fifty Licks ice cream truck. Tickets for the Cheese Crawl are available for $15 and all proceeds support the American Cheese Education Foundation.
