New Cave Aged Swiss Wins Top Honors

At this year’s National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) Cheese and Yogurt Contest, Caves of Faribault was awarded several top honors. The awards ceremony was held during the 2023 Joint Annual Meeting of the National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDB), National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), and United Dairy Industry Association (UDIA), which took place in Orlando, FL from November 13 – 15. Each year, a majority of NMPF’s members participate to showcase their products and to recognize leadership, creativity and talent within their organizations. This year’s contest saw 14 co-ops compete for 74 awards in 24 categories.
Caves of Faribault received a total of four awards, including the esteemed Chairman’s Award for 44° North Natural Rind Swiss, one of the new affinage items that will be debuting in early 2024. The soon to be released 44° North also received the first place award for the Swiss category. Additionally, Caves of Faribault’s Pasteurized Blue Cheese won the contest’s Best Italian Award and first place in the Hard and Mold Ripened Italian category.
