Cave-aged cheeses a hit with local community

The annual Taste of Faribault event was held this year on September 12 at Faribo West Mall, giving attendees a chance to savor all that Faribault has to offer, including our very own cave-aged cheeses. Once again, this event proved that a small town can indeed offer big tastes!
Along with local restaurants, caterers and grocers, Caves of Faribault sampled its flagship AmaBlu and premium St. Pete’s Select Blue cheeses, alongside the exciting new affinage offerings of 44° North Swiss and Grotto 222 Gouda. This year, our cheeses were paired with wines from Vintage Escapes Winery, giving attendees the ultimate cheese-tasting experience. Lead Cheesemaker Francisco Zepeda, alongside employees Adam Williamette and Michael Davis, helped man the Caves of Faribault booth, an always popular stop at this event.
“The event was well attended by our community and we had a lot of good compliments on our product,” recalls Francisco. “We had a line for our booth and a lot of positive feedback, especially with our affinage cheese,” he says.
“There are typically over 1400 people at this event, and it seems like our line is always, always the longest,” echoes Plant Manager Tara Schaal. “The people of the community love our product, and we value them and their opinions as we are nothing without our local support.”
